VIKA receives Fairfax County Land Conservation Award

2007 Land Conservation Awards: Tree Preservation and Planting

VIKA’s project, James Lee Center, was selected to receive a 2007 Fairfax County Land Conservation Award for Tree Planting in the recreation center category.

Awards for Tree Planting and Landscaping are presented to recognize those developers and builders who have done an outstanding job of replacing trees that were unavoidably destroyed due to development. Nominees shall have made a commitment toward tree conservation in planning and implementation by planting the most suitable species and as many trees as possible to replace trees that were unavoidably destroyed due to construction of their project. Planting sites selected to take advantage of energy conservation opportunities are also taken into consideration in this category.

An awards ceremony will be held on January 18, 2008.
