DESIGN ENGINEER / ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
VIKA VIRGINIA, LLC – DESIGN ENGINEER / ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

We are currently looking for a Design Engineer for our Engineering Department. Successful candidates must have a BS/BA degree with 0-2 years of experience in civil engineering. It is preferred that a candidate be a Licensed Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or working towards obtaining EIT status in next 12 months.
Responsibilities include: 1) ability to work on specific tasks; 2) ability to design and prepare engineering documents for specific design components of a project, sediment erosion control, storm drain design and computations, water and sewer design, grade establishment plans, and maintenance of traffic plans; and, 3) ability to coordinate efforts with client, agencies, and VIKA’s Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Surveying, and Planning Staff, as well as other consultants.

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT / PLANNING DEPARTMENT
VIKA VIRGINIA, LLC – PLANNER / LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT
VIKA, Virginia, LLC is seeking a Planner/Landscape Architect Senior Project Manager to join the staff in the Tysons office. The successful candidate will have 10+ years of experience in the production of a wide range of documents, including: zoning/entitlement packages; master plans; site plan packages; landscape/hardscape design; and, construction documents.
Qualified candidate shall have specific Arlington County, City of Alexandria, Fairfax County, and Loudoun County rezoning experience. Candidate will also attend local boards and commissions to represent our clients and have the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Lastly, the successful candidate will be comfortable “wearing many hats”, working efficiently at many scales and working under tight deadlines.
It is expected that the candidate will be fluent in computer programs standard within the industry (AutoCAD, Photoshop, SketchUp at a minimum), and have solid grading and hand graphic skills.

OFFICE PROJECT SURVEYOR
VIKA VIRGINIA, LLC – OFFICE PROJECT SURVEYOR
VIKA Virginia, LLC is seeking an experienced Office Project Surveyor to join our staff in the Tysons, Virginia office.
A successful candidate is required to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of boundary, topographic, record plats, legal descriptions and construction surveys. Candidate must have extensive experience with Civil 3D and Carlson software. Candidate must be able to perform in a fast paced environment with quick turnaround times, the ability to problem solve and communicate effectively, and the willingness to learn and take on new tasks. 5 to 7 years of office experience is recommended for this position.

SURVEY INSTRUMENT OPERATOR
VIKA VIRGINIA, LLC – SURVEY INSTRUMENT OPERATOR
VIKA Virginia, LLC is seeking a Survey Instrument Operator with a minimum of 3 years of experience in land surveying. This position reports to Survey Party Chief or Survey Field Coordinator. Under direct supervision, assists Survey Party Chief in all aspects of survey projects, including field data collection reconnaissance for horizontal and vertical control or property corner evidence, field stakeout of proposed routes or future construction, and technical support as needed. Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather, along with extended work schedules and likely overtime opportunities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 1) operate instruments and data collections systems (total stations, levels and other measuring devices) to acquire data for various types of surveys; 2) assist or performs processing of field measurements and related data, equipment maintenance and maintains supplies for crew vehicles; 3) care and working knowledge of total stations, GPS levels and robotic total station. Must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

SURVEY CREW CHIEF
VIKA VIRGINIA, LLC – SURVEY CREW CHIEF
VIKA Virginia, LLC is seeking a Full-Time Survey Crew Chief with direct working knowledge in all aspects of survey projects, including field data collection with conventional, robotic, and GPS instruments, reconnaissance for horizontal and vertical control or property corner evidence, field stakeout of proposed site features for future construction, set up and monitoring for settlement, detail measurements and recordation for as-builts.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in land surveying with, at least three (3) years as a full-time Crew Chief.
- Working knowledge of mathematics as it relates to surveying (Geometry)
- Able operate, maintain, check and adjust instruments (Levels, Total Stations, Robotics, and GPS)
- Prepare sketches of existing conditions
- Oversee, train and be accountable for survey crew safety, actions and work production
- Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather and site conditions
- Be available to work an extended schedule, including overtime
- Valid Driver’s License with an excellent driving record
- Have excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
