Principal
Chuck Irish is one of the two Founding Principals of VIKA. During his 37-year career in the land surveying and civil engineering professions, Mr. Irish has practiced as a Principal-in-Charge and Project Manager/Surveyor/Engineer on a broad range of Maryland and District of Columbia projects including engineering, land surveying, landscape architecture, and planning endeavors. Mr. Irish was originally licensed in 1978 as a Professional Engineer in the State of Maryland and subsequently in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
In addition, he was licensed in 1980 as a Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Maryland, and in 1985 as a (3-a) Land Surveyor in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
As Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of VIKA, Mr. Irish has over 37 years of civil engineering and land development experience. Mr. Irish has been responsible for projects that include: entitlements; rehabilitation; additions; new development and redevelopment; stormwater management; flood control; wetland mitigation; sewage and water distribution systems; community development; parks and recreation; and, roadways.
Mr. Irish currently serves on the Civil and Environmental Engineering Board of Visitors at the University of Maryland, is a former President of the Maryland Society of Surveyors who also honored him as the Surveyor of the Year in 1999.
