Peter L. Rinek Joins VIKA Virginia’s Planning and Landscape Architecture Practice

Peter L. Rinek, RLA, ISA-CA, LEED AP

Peter Rinek has joined VIKA’s Virginia office as its Senior Division Planning Manager/Landscape Architect.  A longtime advocate of sustainability and environmental design, Mr. Rinek brings more than 35 years of award winning experience to our clients, and strengthens our existing Planning and Landscape Architecture Team.  Peter is licensed Landscape Architect in both Virginia and Maryland, a LEED AP, and an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist.  In his new role, Peter will be directing and contributing to numerous planning, entitlement, and landscape architecture projects within VIKA.  Peter will be leading a VIKA Team of landscape architects working on entitlements, civil engineering projects, large-scale and small-scale landscaping design projects, and construction projects.  In his role, Mr. Rinek will also oversee the work of members of the VIKA Project Team to ensure high-quality designs and plans are completed on time and within budget.

Prior to joining VIKA, Mr. Rinek worked for Urban and Graham, EDAW, and BC Consultants where he acquired his diverse and extensive portfolio of experience on projects ranging from multi-family residential communities, corporate offices and complexes, mixed use, parks and recreation, institutional and academic facilities, and civic and municipal buildings.  Peter and his impressive body of professional work are not strangers to VIKA.  His prior experience includes working in collaboration with VIKA on the landscape architecture aspects of projects that include, Avalon Falls Church, Monument View, Ballston Point, and Discovery Square.

Peter earned his Associates of Science in Construction and Contracting and his Bachelor of Science in Land Architecture from Purdue University and his Masters of Science in Real Estate and Urban Development from American University.
