ROBERT R. COCHRAN, LS

Mr. Cochran has overseen, directed and managed more than 100 streetscape, park, recreation, residential, mixed-use, hotel, and commercial developments in Arlington County, Fairfax County, and the City of Alexandria. As a Licensed Land Surveyor in Virginia, Mr. Cochran has more than 21 years of experience managing entitlement and rezoning projects through the Metropolitan Washington DC area. This work has required him to work closely with county, town, and city staff and citizen groups.
Mr. Cochran’s problem-solving skills include “thinking outside the box” to develop creative project solutions. His impressive management skills for entitlements includes balancing the multiple and, at times, competing priorities of all stakeholders, while always acting as a strong advocate for his client’s interests. He is extremely knowledgeable about the planning, regulatory, and implementation framework for projects. He has built highly effective relationships with approval authorities and has the project experience, respect, and ability to work hand-in-glove with county, state, and federal approval agencies.
In addition, Mr. Cochran’s experience includes providing complete surveying and planning services including: boundary and topographic surveys; planimetric, utility, tree surveys; preparation of easement and fee simple plats; construction stakeout; and, construction management. Mr. Cochran currently serves on the Board of the Fairfax County Park Foundation.
