Glenstone is a unique museum located on 200 acres in Potomac, Maryland, whose collection focuses on post World War II art. The sustainable site’s landscape is home to monumental sculptures, sited amid rolling pastures and unspoiled woodlands. Glenstone is currently embarking on an expansion project, the centerpiece of which will be a new exhibition building integrated within new walking paths, bridges, restored meadows, and woodlands.
The new 170,000 SF addition will include:
- Gallery space — 50,000 additional SF
- New public entrance
- Foundation offices
- Courtyard water garden
- Stand-alone arrival pavilion
To complement the new buildings, more than 6,000 new trees of 43 native species will be planted across the grounds, supplementing the 2,000 existing trees and bringing the total installed at Glenstone to 8,000.
