Celebrating Promotions and Role Transitions

‍Esra Soytutan has been promoted to Director of the Landscape Architecture Department. Since joining VIKA 2.5 years ago, Esra has been a crucial source for strengthening and expanding our client base. She has streamlined our standards and templates within the LA department, mentored Landscape Architecture staff across project teams, and fostered cross-discipline collaboration with our engineers, planners, and surveyors. Esra's efforts to enhance our office culture through various initiatives have also made a positive impact.

‍Ghassan Khouri has been promoted to Director of the Engineering Department. Over the past 23 years, Ghassan has led many of VIKA's most challenging projects, including Glenstone, Bloom, and Bethesda Marriott, from design through permitting and construction. He has played a key role in engineering recruitment and will continue leading the Red Project Team.

‍Jeff Amateau and Rob Tilson will take on new strategic roles within VIKA. Both will be working closely with Mike and Josh Sloan on a variety of tasks. They will be more involved in early project efforts, including concept designs, fee sheets, and proposals. They will also contribute in a greater capacity regarding training/mentoring staff, solving unique project challenges, and providing project management on complex or unique projects.

‍Jason Evans has been promoted to Principal Associate. With over 18 years at, Jason will now lead our office’s financial functions. Additionally, he will represent VIKA Maryland on the Joint Initiative Committee across other VIKA offices and continue to lead the Blue Project Team.

‍Bill Robinson has also been promoted to Principal Associate. Bill will continue to co-lead Operations and IT alongside Jeff Amateau as well as provide additional leadership in our Beltsville office. He will continue to lead the Green Project Team.

Josh Price has been promoted to Executive Vice President. Over his 22+ years at VIKA, Josh has led key initiatives, including the implementation of laser scanning and drone surveys. Josh’s new responsibilities will include leading the growth and coordination of SUE across divisions while continuing to be Director of the Survey Department.
