Landmark 1401 Wilson and 1400 Key Blvds. Redevelopment Approved

Press Release

On July 20 the Arlington County Board granted approval of a site amendment for 1401 Wilson Boulevard and 1400 Key Boulevard. This allows the 2.1-acre site, encompassing both properties, to move forward as a new mixed-use development.

The proposed plan will replace the existing outdated office building with two 27-story multifamily residential towers totaling 831 residential units, 29,000 sf of ground-floor retail including a community-anchoring grocery store, and a partially above-grade parking structure. The project also features a 1.25-acre public plaza that connects the towers, enhances the streetscape experience, and provides a key east-west pedestrian link in the County’s overall “18th Street Corridor” a major pedestrian link to the Rosslyn Metro Station.

VIKA guided the entitlement process, providing advisory and coordination services for the major site plan amendment process. VIKA is also the civil engineering and site design firm for the project as well as providing surveying, traffic engineering and dry utility engineering.
