McConnell Public Safety and Transportation Center

The McConnell Public Safety and Transportation Operations Center (MPSTOC) is a 93,000 SF facility that is a partnership between Fairfax County, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA).

VIKA provided civil engineering and surveying services to transform former “Camp 30” state correctional facility into 130-acremulti-purpose facility at West Ox Road. This facility is being built in phases through 2025 with capability for future expansion.  

The Fairfax County McConnell Public Safety and Transportation Operations Center is a 114,000 SF building with a 33,000 SF Forensics Facility attached and it includes:

  • Fairfax County Department of Public Safety Communications (9-1-1 Communications Center)
  • Fairfax County Office of Emergency Management
  • Fairfax County Emergency Operations Center
  • Virginia State Police Division 7 Dispatchers & Call Talkers
  • WMATA Bus Maintenance Facility
  • Virginia Department of Transportation Operations Center
