The McConnell Public Safety and Transportation Operations Center (MPSTOC) is a consolidated facility housing operations for public safety response, traffic congestion management, and the response to and recovery from major emergencies
VIKA provided civil engineering and surveying services to transform the former “Camp 30” state correctional facility into 130-acre consolidated regional multi-purpose facility. This new 142,000 sf secured building supports multiple critical county and state functions:
- Fairfax County Department of Public Safety Communications (9-1-1 Communications Center)
- Fairfax County Office of Emergency Management
- Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department and Police Department
- Police Forensics Facility
- Virginia State Police Division 7 Dispatchers & Call Talkers
- Virginia Department of Transportation's (VDOT) Northern Region Transportation Operations Center (TOC) and Signal System
