Planner / Transportation Engineer – Entry Level

What We Hope You Will Bring

  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning or Transportation Planning
  • 0-4 years of experience in Traffic Engineering and/or Transportation Planning
  • Experience using AutoCAD
  • Experience using traffic analysis software: Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, SIDRA, and     VISSIM
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • A willingness to learn
  • EIT Certificate is a plus
  • Pursuit of AICP Certification and / or Professional Engineering license strongly     encouraged

Your Impact

  • Technical Support: Assist Planning and Transportation Project teams and senior staff with transportation planning and traffic engineering tasks while applying foundational knowledge of traffic analysis and transportation planning principles to assigned project phases.
  •  Data Analysis: Gather, analyze, and report traffic data, perform parking studies, conduct intersection capacity analyses, and prepare technical reports that conform to local jurisdiction requirements under supervision.
  • Coordination Assistance: Support communication efforts between clients, agencies, internal departments, and consultants while working under direct guidance of Planning and Transportation Project teams and attending job site meetings.
  • Software Proficiency: Demonstrate foundational knowledge and developing proficiency in analysis software including AutoCAD, Synchro/Sim Traffic, HCS, SIDRA, VISSIM, AutoTurn, and ArcGIS applicable to assigned work.
