Experienced Project Planner

We are seeking an experienced Project Planner who is driven and takes pride in technical precision and production quality. The successful candidate will work on a variety of land development projects as part of a multi-disciplined design team that includes civil engineers, planners, and landscape architects. Working closely with Senior Planners, Landscape Architects, and Project Managers, you will help lead CADD production efforts in the Planning Department and play a key role in translating preliminary design concepts into accurate, high-quality entitlement documents.

This is an in-office position based at our Tyson, Virginia office.

What We Hope You Will Bring

• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred)
• 3-5 years’ direct experience preparing entitlement drawings  
• Technical proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred); water, sewer, and general utility design; roadway, and related site design including cross sections; using     and manipulating aerial and topographic map files; and preparing entitlement documents. Ability to research and analyze local zoning codes, land use     regulations, and environmental laws and to apply them to assigned projects.    
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills

Your Impact

·        Design Leadership: Lead CADD operations withproficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred) while preparing complex planning entitlement drawings.

·        Advanced Technical Production: Demonstrate advanced experience in all aspects of CADD design, preparing planning entitlement drawings in full conformance with VIKA's CADD and design requirements.

·        Project Coordination: Lead coordination efforts with VIKA Planning, Landscape Architecture, and Engineering staff and outside consultants including Land Use Attorneys, Architects, Landscape Architects, and Dry Utility Engineers while preparing planning entitlement documents for assigned project development phases.
