We are seeking an experienced Landscape Designer who is creative ,driven and takes pride in technical precision and production quality. The successful candidate will work on a variety of land development projects as part of a multi-disciplined design team that includes civil engineers, planners, and landscape architects.

This is an in-office position based at our Tyson, Virginia office.

What We Hope You Will Bring

  • BA/BS in Landscape Architecture (preferred)
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred)
  • Intermediate knowledge of 3D rendering software typical in the industry (Sketchup, Photoshop, Enscape, InDesign, Rhino, and similar) Some experience in site design and layout; cross sections; perspective rendering; manipulating aerial and topographic map files; grading; planting design; and preparing entitlement and/or construction documents. Ability to research and analyze local zoning codes, land use regulations, and environmental laws and to apply them to assigned projects.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Your Impact

·        Design Support: Assist Project Landscape Designers and Senior Project Landscape Architects in entry-level capacity, focusing on design and preparation of landscape architecture documents for assigned project development phases.

·        Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in AutoCAD/LDD, PhotoShop, and SketchUp while developing basic experience in landscape architecture, planning, and site design including grading, planting design, and detailing.

·        Project Coordination: Coordinate efforts with clients, agencies, VIKA multi-disciplinary teams, and consultants while gaining basic experience in preparing landscape plans conforming to local jurisdiction requirements.

·        Professional Development: Build basic knowledge of local county approval processes and standards, develop proficiency in one jurisdiction, and establish foundation for career advancement in landscape architecture practice.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $65,000 – $75,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors, in accordance with applicable law.
