The project is being developed by Conifer Realty in partnership with the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority (FCRHA). VIKA provided site planning and civil engineering services.
This adaptive reuse development is the first office-to-affordable housing conversion in Fairfax County. Once complete, Telestar Court will offer one- and two-bedroom apartments to households earning between 30% and 80% of the area median income (AMI).
“The innovation and creativity required to transform an office building into affordable housing is another example of how we make progress in this community,” said Lenore Stanton, Chair, FCRHA.
“Growing up in Fairfax County with a mail carrier and FCPS teacher for parents, I remember the challenge to afford housing in the neighborhoods my parents’ jobs served,” says Stephen Crowell, Vice President and Senior Project Manager at VIKA. “So, in addition to this being a great project professionally, I am thrilled on a personal level to be a part of bringing more affordable housing to the county.”
Construction completion is anticipated by the end of 2026.
