Flint Hill School

Flint Hill School, a progressive independent school in Northern Virginia with 1,000 students, has expanded over the past 20 years into two campuses.

While the Upper School moved to a large new site, the growing Lower and Middle Schools remained in the original 4-story building. To give the Middle School a distinct identity and room to grow, the school engaged faculty, staff, students, parents, and trustees in an extensive planning process. After exploring various options, the team decided to build a new Middle School adjacent to the Upper School, enabling shared access to athletic and arts facilities. The resulting design aimed to create an inspiring, vision-driven environment that fosters critical thinking and diverse learning opportunities.

VIKA provided site design and civil engineering services related to the planned improvements to both the Upper School and Middle Schools; presently located on two separate campuses.
