Welcoming New Talent
We expanded our team across all service lines - surveying, planning, engineering, transportation, landscape architecture, sub surface utility engineering, and dry utility engineering, adding seven professionals who strengthen our technical depth, support our clients’ evolving needs, and can provide integrated solutions across disciplines. Says, Bob Cochran, Principal Director of VIKA Virginia, “Cross-training enables our staff to fully understand how each discipline works together, creating better project outcomes. It strengthens collaboration and builds innovation, resulting in stronger, more integrated solutions for clients. Our growth across all disciplines in 2025 demonstrates the value of this approach.”
Expanding Ownership and Leadership
VIKA Virginia is proud to welcome five new firm owners this year, Kyle O'Connor, Vice President, Lisa Goodwin, Senior Survey Project Manager, Mike Pinkoske, Director of Transportation, and Peter Rinek, Director of Planning, Ryan Scott, Senior Survey Project Manager highlighting our continued investment in developing future leaders. As leaders, they provide client service, staff mentorship, and a strong leadership foundation for the future.
Project Milestones and Major Approvals
Through our expansion into new geographic jurisdictions, our teams helped advance projects by navigating approvals across multiple regions and achieving key milestones. VIKA continues to support new housing, better connectivity, and stronger communities with key projects such as the Norfolk Calvert Square and Young Terrace redevelopment project and the transformative development of the Barcroft Apartments into a mixed-use, mixed-income community. We also celebrated key construction milestones for 2990 Telestar Court, The Exchange at Spring Hill, and the Ballston Macy’s redevelopment, among other critical regional projects.
Looking Ahead
Heading into the new year, we’re inspired by all that we accomplished in 2025. With new team members joining our team, expanded work across the region, and important project milestones reached, we’re ready to build on this momentum. We look forward to continuing our partnerships with clients and communities, delivering projects that are not just successful, but meaningful, sustainable, and transformative.
“As VIKA Virginia moves forward, we reflect on the 45-yearjourney that has shaped our growth so far. Our market presence and technical excellence provide a strong foundation, while our people and culture drive our success. The leaders we develop and the team that supports them define who we are and where we’re headed,” says, John Amatetti, Managing Member
